iTunes Outsells Major CD Retailers For The First Time

Surprisingly, Appleā€™s iTunes service has overtaken many of the top U.S. music retailers. Apple has overtaken Wal-Mart and is now the biggest music retailer in the U.S.

Sales at iTunes January through February also surpassed Amazon and Best buy. Eddy Cue, vice president of iTunes at Apple said “We launched iTunes less than five years ago, and it has now become the number one music retailer in the world.”

Cue also said “We are thrilled, and would like to thank all our customers for helping us reach this incredible milestone.”
