Remains of 1-ton Rodent Found

Scientists in Uruguay have discovered the remains of a rodent which weighed 1 ton. The creature was believed to be 3 meters in length and 1.5 meters tall. The size of a small car.

It resembles a giant rat and its skull is 53 centimeters in diameter. The creature was found by two paleontologists, Andrés Rinderknecht and Ernesto Blanco in a broken boulder in San Jose.

Looking at the small size of it its teeth this rodent would be classified as an herbivore. The rodent named Josephoartigasia monesi, roamed the earth about 4 million years ago along with other giant creatures during that time.
