China Denies Lunar Probe Photos Are Fake

China launched its first lunar probe, named the Chang’e 1 in October. A photo released last week displayed the moon with a grey patch covered with craters.

Now, Internet users in China are arguing that this photo is almost identical to the lunar image taken from NASA in 2005.

Chief scientist for the Chinese lunar probe Ouyong Ziyan, said “There is absolutely no forgery”, and upon viewing the two images closer they appear to have subtle differences.

More photos should come out soon from the probe to put an end to this image fraud case.
