Saturns Rings As Old As Our Solar System

Based on data from NASA’s Voyager spacecraft from the 1970s, scientists believed Saturn’s rings were about 100 million years old. Now, new data from the Cassini spacecraft suggest the rings may be up to 4.5 billion years old. The spacecraft also found that particles which make up the rings are continuously being shattered and regrouping to form new rings.
